Amazing

This is by far one of the best submissions to come out of clock day 2008. The graphics were pretty unique, and the animation was great -- I especially loved the way you made everything look sort of squishy. ;)

The music was also great, and worked perfectly with the submission. Fantastic job.

Thanks man, appreciate it :D

Great - one of my favourites yet!

Man, I really enjoyed this one. Using your own characters in the Pokémon game setting was a brilliant idea. I loved seeing Graham in the role of your nemesis, and the bit where you were fighting over the Pokémon to get the one that had the type advantage was hilarious! I would have liked to have seen that battle though - shame Graham was a 'fucking prick' and refused!

Murray responds:

I was going to include a battle, but the flash would then have to go onto another part. I think what's there now is good enough. Thanks NEVR. :D

Very nice work.

You're really doing well with this type of flash, and this one was another great submission. I liked the weird abstract feel of the animation, and the way it didn't seem linear, but more like an animation which revolved around a certain concept.

I have some artwork which you might be interested in which is similar to the type of stuff you're doing now. I'll send it to you when I next come on MSN.

Mechabloby responds:

GET ON MSN NOW >:(

Also, glad you liked it. :]

Nicely executed.

As you know, I like the style you have going here. It kinda reminds me of David Firth a little bit, but less weird and more abstract.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this one - it seems to really represent the ambiguous complexity of love with a simplicity that is hard to achieve with words. (That's my view anyway :P).

Good stuff overall, Added to favourites.

Mechabloby responds:

OMIGOD IM WELL HAPPEE DAT U ADED IT 2 UR FAVZ!@!!1

Well, not really but it's nice to know you liked it that much to add it. Since this was my first go at something like this, I'm sure I may not of done a perfect job at everything but in the future, I'd like to make things that are contrasting and weird at the same time but with a theme like love and with the contrast I pulled off, you really can't do weird. Only can do sweet. :(

Ah well, I'm proud of it still. Thanks for the review. :)

R.E.M. are like, a great band.

Nice, but short.

I liked this a lot more than most random line FBF's - mostly because you added in the glow effect behind the lines, which made it look a lot more interesting than just plain lines. It just goes to show how a little bit more effort can really improve a flash.

As for the length of the submission, it could have been longer, and I was actually disappointed when it ended slightly prematurely, because I wanted to see more. Maybe your next one could be a bit longer, with different colored glowing lines, and more of them at once making some more complex figures and shapes?

My friend experimented with 'drawing with light', which involved setting up a camera outside in the dark, and 'drawing' with a torch in the air using a 5 second shutter delay (I think that's the correct terminology - I'm not a photographer). Anyway, the results were quite spectacular, so perhaps something like that could inspire you as well for something really new and different.

FEAR responds:

sounds awesome :)

Definitely will make the next one longer!

Happy Censorship day you trucking bricks!

My favourite part was where Bahamut started listing off swear words, which were inevitably replaced with regular words by the censorship remote, and the tranquil setting of the park (I assume it was a park due to the park bench in the background) highlighted the lack of obscenity on this glorious day. And of course, Graham is always classic.

Murray responds:

Trucking bricks is Graham's line. >:(

Great work.

The animation in this was great, you really nailed it. One of my favourite aspects of this submission was the text that fluctuated between fonts - really gave it something extra. The incorporation of the Origin of Symmetry artwork was also cool, and worked well.

Only bit that I felt could have been slightly better were the buildings at the beginning - the outlines were very thick, and I don't personally like outlines to be too thick. That's just personal preference, though, I understand that it was probably intentionally stylized that way.

Overall, great job, you should keep making this stuff, it's really good!

Mechabloby responds:

Aye, I'll do alot more of this in the future. I was really proud with the Origin Of Symmetry scene, too. I did feel like it needed a bit of shading but if I did that, I felt like I may ruin it, too so I just added the shadows.

Yeah, this is my first real experimental flash so it may have a few loose ends or some things you may not want to see in it but heck, I'll improve over time. :)

Thanks for the brilliant review.

Great!

This was a great episode - Ampharos Hitler looked superb, especially with the elongated neck. Brilliant.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

Vagrant.

Awesome.

I watched between the ad breaks from Futurama on TV. It just seems so perfect. The last line is classic - "I'm Bahamut and I'm a random scouser". Legend.

<3

Murray responds:

"I watched between the ad breaks from Futurama on TV."

That makes me feel special. <3

Brilliant.

It's always good to see Bahamut's userpage, but graced with the presence of Adolf, it takes on a whole new significance in my eyes.

Murray responds:

The Blam Team will NEVR be able to blam the Hitler series. :D
